Event filming at a global tech conference in Amsterdam — with minimal effort from Stockholm
When the Amsterdam-based tech company The Things Industries organized The Things Conference this year, they wanted to document their breakout stages in a professional yet cost-effective way. The solution was to rent two complete video systems from HiStreamers – and the result exceeded expectations.
Over two intensive days, 71 sessions were recorded, including presentations and panel discussions showcasing the latest technology in the Internet of Things. The entire recording process was handled by the company’s own staff, without any prior experience in video production. All that was required was to press “Start Record” and “Stop Record” – the rest was handled automatically by the system
The system was shipped from Sweden and could be easily set up on-site by internal staff, with no technical expertise required. After a brief introduction with remote support from HiStreamers’ team in Stockholm, the organizers were able to manage the entire production independently from start to finish.
A clever stage design also contributed to a unique event experience: the breakout sessions took place in inflatable rooms set up inside a large exhibition hall, creating a focused and intimate atmosphere for both presenters and the audience.
The result was a series of high-quality, professional recordings produced at a fraction of the cost of a traditional production company. Thanks to HiStreamers’ automated technology, the entire conference was documented efficiently, cost-effectively, and with high technical quality — without the need for external film crews.
